I recently started reading a book by Bill Hull entitled, Choose The Life: Exploring a Faith That Embraces Discipleship. He writes, “A man came to his pastor and said, ‘I just want to be a Christian. I don’t want to be a disciple. I like my life the way it is. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, and I will be with him when I die. Why do I have to be a disciple?” Hull states that the answer you give to this question will reveal the gospel you believe. He
argues that we have taught a non discipleship Christianity. This is the problem many modern day churches face because this is a faith that does not transform. He states the modern church has lost sight of Jesus as Leader. He further states, “The whole point of the gospel is to be transformed into the image of Christ.” Let us “Choose the Life”, a faith that includes discipleship and leads to transformation. Let us join the men in “Embracing The Transformed Life.” Romans 12:2 states, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Our weekly devotional reading plans for this month will focus on
discipleship and embracing the transformed life.
Join Bro. Michael Young and the dfree ministry group as they embrace a new look at personal financial management from a biblical perspective. We are doing a great work together: building hope, building relationships, and changing lives. We do all of this for God’s glory. Remember our motto: “We’re all in this together, being the church God has called us to be.”
Be Blessed,
Pastor Williamson
